Cookies are small text files that contain letters and numbers and are placed on your computer or mobile device by websites that you visit. They can improve your experience of using a website, for example, by remembering your preference settings and tracking your use of a website so that it can be improved to meet your needs.
In certain jurisdictions, websites must obtain consent to send cookies to your computer or mobile device unless the cookies are strictly necessary to provide services to you.
'Strictly necessary' cookies are those that enable you to browse a site and are necessary for security reasons. 'Functional cookies' on the other hand remember your preferences and browsing behaviour to improve the user experience and can be controlled by you in your browser settings.
There are also 'first party' cookies, used by the platform the website runs on (in this case Wix) and 'third party' cookies, which are used by third party services such as Google Analytics. Details of the cookies used on this site are set out below.
There are two types of cookies:
1. Session cookies - these are created temporarily and do not collect information from your computer. They last only for the duration that your browser is open and are erased when your browser is closed. Their purpose is to allow the website to link the actions of a user while browsing. They are encrypted, do not store users' identifiable information and are essential in order to navigate the site.
2. Persistent cookies - these remain on your device between browsing sessions. They are stored on your hard drive until they expire (as a set expiration date) or until you delete them. They are used to collect information such as your web browsing behaviour, preferences for a specific site (e.g. language or currency), or your login details so that you don't need to enter them each time you visit that site.
You can control and remove cookies via the settings in your web browser. Many browsers provide information regarding cookies through their 'Help' menu and additional information can be found online (see below). Be aware that restricting cookies may impact the functionality of a website. Many of the interactive functions offered by websites are dependent on cookies and disabling or blocking cookies can prevent these services from working or reduce their usefulness.
Different web browsers may use different methods for managing cookies. Please follow the instructions from the web browser manufacturers directly, to configure your browser settings:
